Review: Masters of Doom by David Kushner

Cringey amount of mentions of pizza - infantilised by the writer's nostalgia. For me, too much time spent on the frivolous escapades of Romero & not enough on Carmack's - he's the story's engine, after all. The story of the two Johns carried this book like I carry my teammates. Bar the details like how much diet coke Carmack drank, you could get the core from reading their wikipedia pages. 3 stars for the story, but you can't really credit that to the author, who gets a tip of the hat for the efforts, and a middle finger for his transphobia.
Easy & (mostly) enjoyable read of a couple of industry titans.
